• The breath test machine is based on the concept that the deep lung air contains alcohol at a specific ratio to the alcohol in the blood. Whether that is correct or not is not important because the deep lung air is never present in the mouth to be tested.
• The EC IR II requires a 1.5L sample; if you cannot provide it you are given a deficient sample and probably deemed a refusal.

HGN Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus -- Official Video

This is an official video that attempts to show how to properly conduct the HGN test.  The HGN test is a complicated test requiring the officer to make certain timing and decisions about angles of onset.  It is hard to do if you practice constantly.  Few officers do.

• The preliminary breath tester also called a PBT is used by Officers to establish that you have alcohol in your system.  Usually they arrest you if you have any alcohol in your system.  Do you blow into the hand held breath tester?
• I have been drinking.  The Officer has stopped me.  He obviously smells alcohol on my breath.  He just asked me how much I have had to drink.  What do I do?
