I'm Bob Keefer and I have been practicing law here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia since graduating from William & Mary Law School in 1983. During that time I routinely appeared in Harrisonburg, Staunton, Woodstock and Luray to represent my clients. I have handled hundreds if not thousands of traffic cases, both reckless driving and driving under the influence. I have also appeared in courts in Winchester, Charlottesville, Front Royal, Fairfax and Arlington.

I have successfully completed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) approved student course in administration of standardized field sobriety tests three times. The last being in December of 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. I keep taking this course to keep my skills sharp and to learn any variations that may have arisen in the field tests. It helps me cross examine police officers to take the class they took.

I also successfully completed the NHTSA Certified Field Sobriety Instructor class making one of the few NHTSA Certified Field Sobriety Instructors in the State of Virginia. That means that I am qualified to teach the class your police officer took on field sobriety testing.

I have also completed the DOT Certified Breath Technician course in the EC/IR II, Virginia's evidentiary breath tester. I was a presenter at the 2011 Williamsburg DUI seminar.

I also have the Alco-Sensor III which law enforcement uses for preliminary breath testing.

I have written articles on the new breath tester, the EC/IR II that Virginia is adopting.

I am the co-author of a book on DWI/ DUI defense in Virginia.

I am a member of the National College for the DUI Defense.

I have attended the National College for DUI Defense's summer term presented at Harvard University.

I have attended the Annual Mastering Scientific Evidence In DWI/DUI Cases and The Annual DWI Means Defend With Ingenuity Seminar.

I have been selected as a Super Lawyer for 2009.
