Our main focus is representing those accused of Virginia DUI charges. Most people do not realize how far our government has strayed from innocent until proven guilty in DUI cases. In DUI the accused is de facto guilty unless he can prove the breath test gadget was wrong or the field tests were wrong.We pride ourselves at Keefer Law Firm in knowing more about the breath test gadgets than the government does. That is not easy since the government gives the accused very limited access to the gizmo itself. Despite the goverment's failure to grant access we proved a false positive on Harrisonburg's Intoxilyzer 5000 --it showed over .60 for a subject who had no alcohol whatsoever in her system. The initial readout was destroyed.
We also found the emails and internal documents showing the government's acknowledgement that the Intoxilyzer 5000s were dated, unstable and unreliable.
